Family, friends and educators gathered at URI's Ryan Center on Thursday night to celebrate a once-in-a-lifetime event; the graduation of 109 Narragansett High School seniors who have been working for the past 13 years to reach this point.
Those in attendance reminisced about the four years of high school that seemingly flew by and listened to heartfelt and inspiring speeches from Valedictorian/Senior Class Co-President Eliza DeCubellis, Salutatorian Heather Dorich, Senior Class Co-President Evan Carvalho, and retired Narragansett teacher Ulysses Gallman.
Graduates watched attentively as class officers Samantha Harrington, Sara Ryan and Victoria Sauro recited the class ode, then the Class of 2013 left their legacy behind with a gift of two benches for the school.
One by one, members of the Narragansett High School Class of 2013 then climbed the steps of the Ryan Center stage as high schoolers, received their diplomas, and stepped down as graduates.
The newly-crowned NHS alumni ended the evening by turning their tassels and dancing as a class to September by Earth, Wind & Fire.
