This is Dorset -- English girls' champion Sophie Keech, from Dorset, is one of three new caps in the England team for this week's Girls' Home Internationals at St Annes Old Links, Lancashire. Also making their debut for England are the Surrey pair of Annabel Dimmock and Sammy Fuller. They will join five players who all represented England in the European girls' team championship last month: Gabriella Cowley, Alice Hewson, Sophie Lamb, Sophie Madden and Olivia Winning. The reserves are: Bethan Popel (Long Ashton) and Emily Slater (Woodhall Spa). The team will again be captained by Chris Pascall (Hartlepool). The matches, against Scotland, Ireland and Wales, take place from Wednesday to Friday, 7-9 August. England are the defending champions and will be targeting their sixth successive win in this event. Gabriella Cowley and Olivia Winning were both members of the successful 2012 team. Joshua Owen, aged only 9 years, played a brilliant round of golf and scored 46 points and won the Prestigious Anniversary Trophy at Tickenham Golf Club beating adults many times his size and age. In the last year alone he has reduced his handicap from 45 to its new low of 27. Only a month ago young girl Charlotte Millington from Clevedon Golf Club won the 9 Hole NIKE Challenge at Tickenham.
