TENNIS: Two Danbury players were crowned the U8 Mini Tennis champions at the Essex Junior Closed Tournament at Thorpe Bay.
Sam Mortimer-Ford won the boys' event, beating James Howell 10-4 in the final. Mortimer-Ford battled through against some higher-rated opponents in his run to the final, but his new, improved serve helped him win some easy points.
