This is Dorset -- Charity prefects, Tilly and Olivia at St Mary's Shaftesbury presented a cheque for £1,000 to Julia's House following a variety of fund raising activities including a pyjama dress up day and a host of other activity. The St Mary's photography club, known in school as 'The Shutter Babes' (made up of Fifth form and Sixth form girls) have also met with Julia's House to launch an exciting new venture to showcase their work and raise money at the same time. Girls will be putting their marketing and business skills to the test to organise a series of charity exhibitions next year that are profit-making and successful. The initiative involves hosting a series of Photography exhibitions in Dorset and Wiltshire to showcase and sell their work to raise money for Julia's House. Everyone will be welcome to attend the Photography Exhibitions to help raise much needed funds for this amazing local charity. Julia's House, the Dorset Children's Hospice, has just launched a new community service in South Wiltshire offering home-based care for children with life-limiting conditions. The South Wiltshire care team will visit families in their own homes, giving parents a much-needed break from the stress of looking after a very sick child 24 hours a day.
