Jack and Amelia are most popular baby names in Bristol for 2013 This is Bristol -- A new report has revealed that Jack and Amelia were the number one names given to babies in Bristol in 2013. The list, compiled by Bounty Parenting Club, also shows that Sienna, Chloe and Lily are among the names given to baby girls in Bristol. For boys, the names Henry, George and Leo proving more popular with Bristol parents than the rest of the UK. Nationwide, the study of more than 370,000 names unveiled Joey, Teddy, Ivy and Violet as 'ones to watch' in 2014 after rising in popularity the most in the past year. The annual baby names report also revealed Maisy, Kayla, Isabel, Olly and Callum as the names that are fast falling from favour among parents in the UK. Lisa Penney, spokesperson for Bounty said: "Year after year we see new parents influenced by popular culture – with names made famous by people in the public eye suddenly experiencing sharp rises in popularity. "The rising fame of Joey Essex no doubt influenced this years' highest climbing name which leaped a massive 68 places, breaking into the boys' Top 100 at number 86. The Towie star's catchphrase 'Reem' even appeared on some birth certificates. "The names that celebrities choose for their own babies also has an effect on trends. Ivy was the fastest rising girls' name in the past year and most likely triggered by Beyonce and Jay-Z's baby daughter, Blue Ivy." The 100 boy's list shows some interesting new entries this year including Ronnie, Elliot, Ellis and Kaiden. On the girls list new entries are taken by Lottie, Lydia and Orla. Within the boys Top 100, Hugo was the highest climber, leaping from 100th place to 87th and in the Top 20, Oscar also rose from 19th to scoop 7th place. In contrast the name Callum has dropped from 63rd place to 44th in 2013, a fall of 19 places. The girl's name Elsie has taken the biggest leap on the girls' Top 100 list for 2013, climbing from 72 to 50. Whilst Ivy the highest climber overall rose 37 places to enter the girls' Top 100 chart at number 68. Isabel has suffered the biggest drop going from 93rd place to 71 – a drop of 22 places, whilst Maisy and Kayla have dropped straight out of the Top 100 completely after falling 50 and 28 places respectively. The report also revealed that Jack is back in the top spot after previously holding the title for a staggering 16 years before Oliver knocked the moniker off its perch in 2010, Harry took over in 2011 and held the title for 2012. Oliver, Harry, Charlie and Jacob complete the top five most popular names of the year, closely followed by Alfie, Oscar, James, Thomas and Noah. Top of the girls list is Amelia for the second year running, after knocking Olivia from the top spot back in 2012. Olivia retains second place, followed by babies called Emily, Ava and Poppy and Jessica, Isla, Sophie, Mia and Ruby complete the girls' top 10. Lisa Penney continues: "As well as the usual influences from popular culture, in general we can see a growing trend for the return of more 'old-fashioned' names with a vintage flavour as parents adopt names with 'grandparent chic' like Elsie, Violet and Teddy. "This could be due to parents choosing meaningful names linked to their family's older generations that they want to contemporise for the modern day. You only need to look at the popularity of names such as Ruby, Alfie and Ava to see how quickly modern trends change as 10 years ago these were relatively unheard of in the playground but now regularly feature in the top charts."
