Take a look at photos from West Bay, the set of Broadchurch here *Car-jacking alert after scare on A357 in Bagber* A Stalbridge woman was almost the victim of a car jacking after stopping to help a motorist along the A357 in March. Rachel Horbury was flagged down by a distraught woman standing in the middle of the road – however, Rachel spotted three men sitting in a car and a fourth man jumped over the hedge and started running towards the car. Read the full story here *Ringwood teenager killed in A31 hit and run* In February, we reported the tragic news that 16-year-old Jade Clark died after being knocked off her scooter on the A31 near the Ashley Heath roundabout. A reward was offered as police appealed to track down a Volvo – which was eventually traced to Brian Hampton. Hampton was jailed for six years after being found guilty of causing death by careless driving. Read how the day unfolded here *Henstridge artist creates Richard III painting for society* In February, the remains of Ricahrd III were discovered under a car park in Leicester. Heraldic artist Andrew Stewart Jamieson from Henstrige completed a commission from the Richard III Society to create a painting before the big news was unveiled. "The Richard III Society saw a figure I had painted for my son Richard and asked me if I could do something similar for them to use to promote Richard and the Society" said Mr Jamieson. "I have had a fascination for this king since I was 16 when my association with the society began." Read the full story here * Dorset seaside café, home of cooking champ Matt Follas shuts* In January, Masterchef Champion Mat Follas announced his Chesil Beach Café at Portland would close temporarily, just months after a £1.1 million refurbishment. The café was run by Follas in partnership with Dorset Wildlife Trust. Read the full story here *Buckholme Towers School in Poole burns down after fire* In March, a school in Parkstone caught fire overnight – closing the busy Commercial Road to traffic during the morning rush hour. Around 35 firefighters tackled the blaze which started in the roof of the building and quickly spread. Buckholme Towers headmaster Iain Robertson said: "This is a very sad day in the history of Buckholme Towers School but we must not lose sight of the fact that this is only a building. "It is the children that are the heart and soul of the school and the most important thing is that they are safe." Read the full story here * Dorset showjumper dies after falling from horse at Kingston Maurward* In January, 17-year-old Ella Pallister sadly died in hospital after falling from a horse at Kingston Maurward near Dorchester.
