This is Leicestershire -- Loughborough's Katie Boulter has done something Andy Murray couldn't manage – reach the Australian Open final. The 17-year-old, from Woodhouse Eaves, is now just one win away from the junior girls' double title with partner Ivana Jorovic, from Serbia. The pair showed great calm and determination under pressure coming through a champions tie-break to win their semi-final against Australian pairing Olivia Tjandramulia and Naiktha Bains. Boulter and Jorovic, the second seeds, won the first set 6-4 but lost the second as the home favourites won it 6-3 on Court Eight at Melbourne Park. However, Boulter and Jorovic held their nerve to win the decider 10-5 to set up a meeting with top seeds Anhelina Kalinina and Elizaveta Kulichkova on Friday (4am British time). Boulter, who reached the third round of the singles, is in great form having won her first professional title just a couple of weeks ago. Her victory at the $10,000 Sharm El Sheikh doubles tournament with Belgian partner Justine De Sutter saw her storm to the top of the LTA British girls rankings. Reported by This is 3 days ago.
