Thursday's episode of Scandal turned shockingly deadly, though the complete body count seemingly won't be revealed until next week. With the debate quickly approaching, David Rosen (Josh Malina) turned to OPA with the truth that Cyrus (Jeff Perry) and Mellie (Bellamy Young) helped Sally (Kate Burton) cover up her husband's murder. All three presidential candidates are murderers! But Olivia wants to stay out of all that shady business since this election was supposed to be done differently, ethically. [...] she's not able to stay out of the fray for long when Sally decides, for religious reasons, that she wants to go public with the truth during the debate. [...] just in case that didn't work out, Jake (Scott Foley) enlists Tom (Brian Letscher) to be prepared to kill Sally if she decides to tell the truth, which she almost does before Fitz quickly interjects and saves the day. James is then tricked into meeting with David, that White House reporter and the woman who originally discovered the call that implicates Cyrus and Sally after Jake reviews the files on the Langston murder that he had new B613 member Quinn (Katie Lowes) steal from OPA. Though it may seem shocking to think Scandal would kill off an Emmy winner in Bucatinsky, it's not above Shonda Rhimes to really gut-punch the audience.
