Olivia Rogowska must hope for a discretionary invitation into the main draw of the Australian Open after the top seed suffered a shock defeat at the hands of unranked teenager Kaylah McPhee at the wildcard play-offs on Tuesday.
Rogowska, who reached a career-high world ranking of 102 last year but has since fallen to 275, was no match for the 17-year-old Queenslander, who advanced to the quarter-finals with a 6-3, 6-2 first-round win at Melbourne Park.
