Patch Hinsdale-Clarendon Hills, IL --
Angolan colobus monkey Olivia became a mama March 9 when she welcomed a baby at the Brookfield Zoo.
The baby, who has not yet been named, is the first monkey of this species to be born at the zoo, according to a news release.
Guests can visit mama and baby at the Tropic World: Africa exhibit. While the baby's fur is all white now, its coat will turn black and white as it matures.
Olivia, 5, came to Brookfield Zoo in August 2012 with three other adult Angolan colobus monkeys from the Columbus Zoo, specifically for breeding purposes. Reported by Patch 1 day ago.
