70s showcase of mouthwatering hits This is Nottingham --

IT is a show with a set list that is "so mouth watering, even a Curly Wurly couldn't out chew it!"

And unless you lived through the Seventies that will probably make little sense.

But it's not a requirement to buy tickets for The Supersonic70s, a celebration of some of the decade's biggest hit-makers, which comes to the Palace Theatre in Mansfield next Friday, April 12.

The show features a professional six-piece band "with no tapes or backing tracks".

Members have worked with the likes of Ultravox, Mike Oldfield and Asia, and in stage shows such as Boogie Wonderland and We Will Rock You.

It was created by guitarist and songwriter Greg Hart four years ago.

"The idea was to put together a classic-sounding 1970s live hit machine," he says. "It's a packed show containing all those monster quality chart hits that few have dared to attempt, plus some of the ultimate party anthems from this golden era of pop."

They include favourites from the likes of Abba, ELO, Queen, 10cc, The Osmonds, The Carpenters, Wings, Olivia Newton John, David Essex, Suzi Quatro, Sweet, T.Rex, Elton John and The Buggles.

The stage production aims to be authentic in every detail, including Raleigh Chopper bikes and outfits featuring all the necessary denim, satin and diamante.

Rock on! Reported by This is 30 minutes ago.
