Cheerleaders Earn National Championship Patch Milford, MA --

The* *Milford High School Varsity Cheerleaders recently competed at the Cheerleaders of America (COA) Ultimate National Cheerleading Championship held March 29-30 in Orlando, Florida.

The team, coached by Heather Johnson, performed so well both days that they captured the National Championship in the Advanced Large Varsity division.

The girls, who compete in the Advanced Large Varsity Division, completed a short routine packed with stunts, gymnastics, pyramids, jumps, dance and motions.  Judges evaluate cheer routines for difficulty of skills, technique of skills, execution of skills, timing, and team percentage of skills, while at the same time issuing penalties for each and every error made on the mat.

The MHS varsity team roster for this national competition included: Allyson Tomaso; Ariana DeMarco; Chloe Morgan; Emily Diantonio; Gabby McGovern; Jenna Smith; Jennifer Gauthier; Kasey Auger; Kayla Smith; Kelly Johnson; Kesley Gaudette; Lili Schmalenberger; Maggie Chute; Mandy Covino; McKenzie Gaudette; Natalie Applebee; Nikki Delgado; Olivia Hickey; Rachael Smith; Rachel Dolan; Sarah MacRae; Sarah McTiernan; Stephanie Wood; Victoria Chiarelli; Courtney Leblanc; and Carla Cubias.

“These girls worked so hard this year and their dedication and hard work paid off in dividends,” said Head Coach Heather Johnson. “I cannot leave out the dedication and support of their parents as well as the MHS community to help make this National Championship a reality.” Reported by Patch 8 hours ago.
