Patch Radnor, PA --The Radnor Boys and Girls Crew Clubs had significant presence at the third Manny Flick of the Philadelphia Scholastic Rowing season on Sunday, April 7th. The blustery winds provided a challenge for all rowing on the Schuylkill River. The Radnor Boys entered five boats with two boats finishing first in their respective flights.
The Lightweight 8+ boat raced to an easy first in their flight and more than 20 seconds ahead of the second boat. Members of this lightweight boat include Dan Hughes, Brandon Lorenz, Connor Kerpius, Stephen Fitch, Kevin Janson, Alex Chain, Jack Breen, George Walker, and coxswain Henry Leonardi.
A Radnor Boys pair (Jimmy Puckette and Jim Purtill) finished first in their flight of Varsity Doubles. A noteable win because they rowed as a pair (sweeping with one oar each) in an event of doubles (sculling with two oars each) and still came in first.
The Radnor Girls Crew Club also entered five boats in the afternoon's events. Two freshmen boats did well in their respective flights.
A Freshmen 8+ consisting of Connie Chen, Meghan McNicholas, Nicole Vitt, Hadley Chance, Zoe Landry, Caroline Springob, Karishma Pattni, Kirsten MacCormick, and coxswain Judy Zhang placed third in their heat and fourth overall among 12 boats. Another boat consisting of Jill Hughes, Yunyun Gu, Josie Larkin, Caroline Ressler, Morgan Stanley, Renee Khouri, Olivia Chase, Candace Burke, and coxswain Cassidy Lorenz placed fourth in their flight an
The Varsity 8+ boat placed third in their heat and fourth among 13 boats in the last event of the day. Members of this boat included Nina Luker, Rachel Hochberger, Griffin Rauscher, Susanna Lowy, Margot Steely, Maddie Chapin,Maddie Macrone, Annabelle Chardonnet, and coxswain Katie Dillon. Both Radnor Boys and Girls Crews will be returning to fourth Manny Flick next Sunday on the Schuylkill River.
