Greyhound Roundup: Girls, Boys Track and Field Compete in State Indoor Championship Patch Shorewood, WI --

Here is a roundup of Shorewood High School sports courtesy of Athletic Director Bill Haury.

*Track and Field* – On Saturday, the Wisconsin Track and Field Association hosted the Wisconsin Indoor Championship meet at UW-Whitewater.  

Leading the way for the girl’s team was the 4 x 200 relay team of Chiara Sanders, Olivia Alvarez, Lily Blind and Alexis Farrington. They placed eighth with a state honor roll leading D2 time of 1:51.92.  Alexis Farrington placed eighth in the 400 meters with a time of 61.32 which places her in second place on the D2 honor roll this season. Morgan Florsheim ran a great race, leading from start to finish in her heat, to place seventh overall and placing her with the sixth best D2 time for the 1600 in 5:13.86. The 4 x 400 relay team of Lily Blind, Haley Florsheim, Olivia Alvarez and Alison Jacobson rounded out the day for the girls with a time of 4:34.87.

The boys also made some significant advances on the D2 honor roll with their performances at the TFA meet.  Leading the way with a terrific jump of 43’ 7.5” was junior Taylor Dennis which places him third on the D2 honor roll.  The 4 x 200 relay team of Alec Grimmer, Michael Fazio, Robert Washington and Taylor Dennis earned a 15^th place finish out of 49 teams. Their time of 1:35.44 ranks them sixth on the D2 honor roll.  Jacob Goldberg placed 15^th out of 55 400 meter competitors.  His time of 53.16 places him tenth on the D2 honor roll this season.  Jack Mauer and Alex Mackowski ran the 800 meters in 2:09 and 2:14 respectively.  Charles Stahl placed 12^th in the 1600 with a time of 4:32 good enough for sixth on the D2 honor roll.  The boys finished the meet with another great performance by the 4 x 400 relay team of Alec Grimmer, Jacob Goldberg, Taylor Dennis and John traudt. They placed fifth in atime of 3:31.43
