Patch Yorkville, IL --Yorkville High School presented The Music Man on April 19, 20 an 21 as their spring musical.
The performance featured a cast ranging from 5th to 12th grade students and members of the YHS Orchestra.
“We're excited to have 14 elementary school children from throughout the district in our production,” said director, Ken Wayne. “They are all doing a fantastic job!”
There were two children's roles in The Music Man - Winthrop, played by Oliver Queen and Amaryllis, played by Olivia Novak, who are both students at YIS.
The other 12 children add to Harold Hill’s Boys Band and play citizens of Iowa City. The stars of the show are Matt Quanstrom, who plays Harold Hill, and Rachel Plasch, who plays Marian Paroo. Both actors have been a in the spring musical since they were freshmen. Other starring roles are played by Payton Gammicchia, Terry Pletka, Rachel Eaton, Wendy Myers, John Pletka and Sydney Seeman.
“In contrast to last year's production of Joseph, which we set in modern times, The Music Man takes place in Iowa in 1912. Our production will feature period costumes, and lots of big, moving set pieces,” said Wayne.
