This is Bath -- Team Bath Buccs under-16s girls narrowly missed out on a top-four finish at their first England Hockey National Indoor Finals. They opened the scoring through Olivia Allin in their opening game against Kirkby Lonsdale in Wolverhampton but were undone by two quick goals. Allin's second goal of the tournament proved enough to earn victory over Lichfield, however, with Susie Barnes and Holly Jackson both having efforts disallowed. Buccs produced their best performance against eventual finalists Old Loughtonians, drawing 0-0 thanks to the defensive efforts of Charlotte Smith, Hettie Horler and Eliza Matthews and three outstanding saves from keeper Nicole New. Katie Holdaway, Gabi Chapman and Katie Humphrey all created chances in the final game against Surbiton but Buccs could not find a winner and ended the pool matches in third position – not quite enough for a semi-final spot.
